Warning: I chose a $500 daily budget on Meta over Google Search and my sales tanked
My boss gave me a choice last month: put our whole ad spend into Google Search for a new product launch or try a big Meta push. I went all in on Meta, thinking the visuals would hook people, but we only got 12 sales in a week. Has anyone else had a Google vs Meta choice blow up in their face like this?

Oof, that's rough but it makes total sense. It's like trying to sell someone a new type of wrench by showing them a pretty picture at a party instead of catching them when they're already in the hardware store looking for tools. The intent just isn't the same. Meta's great for building a vibe, but people on Google are already in buy mode. I've seen similar stuff happen where people get sold on the flashy new thing and skip the basics that actually work.

Exactly. People forget the hardware store is full of folks who already decided to fix a leak. They're past the "maybe someday" stage. Meta feels like window shopping with friends. Google is the list in your hand. Chasing trends can make you ignore the boring, steady traffic that actually pays the bills.

My buddy spent six months making fancy Instagram ads for his bike shop. He got a ton of likes and three sales. Then he fixed his Google listing so it showed his repair prices. His phone started ringing off the hook the next Tuesday. Sometimes you just have to be where people are ready to open their wallet.
