Vent: My $400/mo retargeting spend was going to one bad audience bucket
Tbh I ran the same retargeting setup for 6 months in Austin and assumed the algo was handling things. Turns out my old audiences were stacked with people who bounced from a 404 page, not actual product views. I split them into a fresh 30-day engager list and the CPA dropped from $38 to $19 in two weeks. Has anyone else seen junk segments quietly eat budget like that?

Man, that stings to read because I've been there too. It's crazy how you can set something up once and just trust it, then find out it's been leaking money the whole time. The 404 page thing is brutal, those people were never gonna buy no matter how many times you showed them an ad. I'm glad you caught it and the fix was that quick, but it makes you wonder how long it was happening before you looked under the hood. Stuff like this is why I try to audit every single campaign at least once a month now, even if it feels like a waste of time when things seem fine. Good on you for sharing this, it's a solid reminder for the rest of us who get lazy with our setups.
