That call with my dad about his ad budget last night really flipped my thinking

He said he spends $500 a month on Facebook ads for his small bakery in Tucson and gets zero sales tracked, then I realized maybe the whole local targeting approach I've been using for clients needs a total rethink because his organic foot traffic from a single flyer actually covers his rent, and has anybody else noticed a disconnect between what platforms promise and what small businesses actually see in person?

That digital spend is basically paying for his competitors' retargeting pools.

Wait wasn't there a study that said most of those clicks are bots anyway?

Yeah exactly, it's wild how much of the stuff we see online isn't even real people clicking. It makes you wonder how many other things we take at face value are just fake numbers and noise. Kinda like how in real life, you can't always trust the crowd to be telling the truth either.
