Switched from Facebook Ads to Google Shopping Ads for my small shop
I run a little online store out of my house here in Portland, selling handmade cutting boards. For about 6 months I was all in on Facebook ads, spending around $400 a month. The clicks were cheap but the sales just weren't there, maybe 2 or 3 boards a week at best. So last month I switched over to Google Shopping Ads instead, which meant setting up a product feed and tweaking my titles. The first week felt slow, but by week three I was moving 8 boards a week at the same spend. The difference was people searching with intent versus just scrolling and clicking. Has anyone else had better luck with one platform over the other for a physical product like this?

Oh wow, that's a solid jump in sales. It makes sense that people searching Google already know what they want compared to just scrolling on Facebook. I think the intent behind the click really changes everything for physical stuff like that.

You're telling me it was a 40% jump in sales? I had to read that twice just to make sure my eyes weren't playing tricks on me. That kind of difference is honestly hard to wrap my head around for a physical product. I mean, I figured Google would win out over Facebook for intent, but not by that big of a margin. It really shows how much the platform shapes the customer's mindset before they even click. Wild stuff, your mileage may definitely vary on that one.
