Shoutout to my old manager who insisted on a $50 daily budget cap for new campaigns

I always thought it was way too low (like, how are you supposed to scale, you know?), but after blowing through a $2k test in a week with no results, I finally tried his method for a month. It forced me to focus on creative and targeting first, and my cost per lead dropped by 40% on the next launch. Has anyone else had a mentor give you advice that seemed wrong but actually saved your budget?
