My $500 lesson on a 'guaranteed' Facebook ad course

I bought a course last fall that promised to show me a 'secret' way to run Facebook ads for local painting jobs. It was all theory and outdated info from 2018, with no real help for today's ad system. I spent the $500 and about 15 hours before I saw it was a total waste. On one side, maybe I should have checked reviews more, but on the other, sellers should be clear about what you're really getting. Has anyone else been burned by a course that didn't deliver what it said?

That "secret way" line is always a red flag. These courses often repackage basic info you could find for free. It's a tough way to learn to be more careful.

Totally agree about the red flag. I got burned once by a "secret method" course that was just a list of free YouTube tutorials. Now I always search for the topic plus "free guide" or "open source" first. What was the last course you almost bought?
