I remember the week in 2018 when a single Facebook ad for a local bakery brought in $40,000 in sales.

It was for a place in Portland. They just wanted to sell more birthday cakes. We ran one simple video ad showing the whole decorating process. It got shared like crazy. The owner called me crying, in a good way. Everything felt possible back then. Now, with all the changes, I doubt I could make that happen again for the same budget. Has anyone else had a campaign from that era that just wouldn't work the same way today?

Man, that's a crazy good result. I mean, it's not that those things can't happen now, but the cost for that same reach would be way higher. The feed is just so much more crowded and the algorithms favor different stuff. Maybe the real magic was that moment when video felt new and shareable on there.

Totally get what you're saying, @wilson.sam. It feels like that with a lot of tech, doesn't it? The best time is right when something new comes out and feels fun before it gets packed with ads and rules. I see it with apps all the time, where the early days just had a different, more real vibe.

Nah, the magic was just having good content that people wanted to share.
