Hot take: Those 'premium' keyword research tools are mostly a waste of money
I spent $200 a month on one of the big name keyword tools for 8 months. In my experience, Google's free keyword planner plus just looking at actual search results gave me better data. That tool kept suggesting keywords nobody actually searches for. I canceled it last month and my click-through rates actually went up. Anyone else find that the free stuff works just as well for ad buying?

Yeah the free stuff gives you real search data without the fluff.

Yeah I heard some marketing guy on a podcast say the same thing, that Google's free planner is actually more reliable for real search volume. I'm with you @grant_allen85, no point paying for fluff data.
