Heard a guy at the coffee shop say 'all ad spend is basically gambling' and I gotta push back on that.

Oh totally! I was just reading about how pro poker players talk about this. They don't call it gambling when they know the odds. It's like a chess move with money. They have a system, they read the other players, and they fold the second the math turns against them. That's way different than just throwing chips on red at the roulette table.

Remember when we ran that test campaign last year? We tracked every click and stopped it the second the cost per lead went up. That's what @samjohnson means by a calculated bet, not just hoping for the best.
