Guy at a Dallas meetup called my $340 ad spend 'tuition' and I have not stopped thinking about it
He was tracking every dollar I burned on bad audiences for 3 weeks and logged it in a spreadsheet labeled 'school,' which totally changed how I see my losses, so does anyone else name their budget line items like that?
Have you ever heard that losing money on ads is just paying for lessons you could not get anywhere else? I read a post a while back from some marketing guy who said he stopped calling them losses and started calling them research costs, and it honestly made me feel way less dumb about my own bad campaigns. Maybe naming the budget line is just a way to stop beating yourself up over it.
