Am I the only one who thinks the 'new client win' posts do more harm than good here?
Every week someone posts about landing a $2k monthly retainer and everyone piles on with congratulations. But in my experience, those posts give beginners a skewed view of what this job actually is. I've been buying ads for 8 years in Cleveland and the real wins are the accounts that quietly run for 18 months without a crisis. The celebration posts never mention the 3am budget overrides or the client who ghosted them after a bad week. Has anyone else noticed those success stories fade out right before the account dies?

The quiet retainer that just renews is the real signal, and I learned that the hard way after a big win fell apart in month four when their budget got cut. Watch the ones who post the loudest, because they usually go silent right before the whole thing goes sideways.
