PSA: Rubbing a bar of soap on screws makes them drive into hardwood way easier.

That trick can strip the wood threads over time. You're better off just driving them dry and dealing with the extra elbow grease.

Wait, you drive them completely dry?! That sounds like a workout just thinking about it, I'd be exhausted after two screws.

But is stripping threads really a common issue with dry driving? I've done it for years on fence posts without problems. Maybe the risk gets overstated for lighter jobs.
