That "influencer" who tried to start a podcast tour and nobody showed up
Saw this one blow up on Twitter for all the wrong reasons... this woman with like 30k followers rented a whole theater in Nashville for a live podcast taping. Tickets were like $45. Posted all these hype videos of herself backstage. Night of the show, there was maybe 12 people in a room that held 500. She cancelled after 15 minutes and blamed "technical difficulties." The venue posted the footage of the empty seats. Has anyone else seen a flop that bad where the person just doubled down on the lie?

Heard about this one from a buddy who lives near Nashville. He said the venue staff were actually feeling bad for her until she posted that fake apology blaming the soundboard. What gets me is she could have just said yeah it was a misfire and moved on. There was a similar thing with a mommy blogger last year who booked a conference room at a library and 3 people showed up. She blamed the parking instead of just owning it.

@xena1 nailed it, people just need to own their stumbles instead of making excuses.

Man, I once tried to do a cooking demo at a county fair and the burner wouldn't light... I spent ten minutes blaming the propane tank before someone pointed out the gas line wasn't even hooked up. Had to stand there and admit I was an idiot in front of like twelve people. At least owning it got a few laughs... better than digging a deeper hole.
