Remember that big forum meltdown last year? Turned out three different 'users' were just one guy with a proxy. Server logs showed all the IPs linked back to his coffee shop wifi.

My friend Emma got dragged into some forum drama last year because someone faked her IP address. The whole thing fell apart once a mod actually checked the server logs. People just ran with the first clue they found.

Yeah, I read that some people use proxy servers to make fake IP addresses look real. Makes you wonder how many clues are just junk like that...
