Watching our beta cohort struggle through onboarding was a brutal reality check
We built this sleek interface assuming it was foolproof, but the first five testers all hit the same dead end within minutes. Had to call an emergency meeting with my co-founders and tear down the entire flow that afternoon. Noticed a bunch of other founders in my Discord sharing similar 'back to the drawing board' stories this month. Kinda wild how a few hours of real user exposure can completely torch your best-laid plans.

Sounds like standard beta testing to me.

Have you ever considered implementing a closed beta with a very specific user guide? When I faced similar login confusion, I required testers to follow a scripted scenario first. This included tasks like creating an account before attempting to log in. I provided a short checklist and observed where they deviated, which highlighted unclear interface cues. That direct observation helped me redesign the onboarding sequence to be more intuitive.

Tell me about it. My first app idea crashed because I forgot users might try logging in without already having an account. Three users. That was the entire test.
