DAE find total silence more jarring than background noise when trying to fall asleep?
My brain starts cataloging every tiny internal sound.

Oh totally. That's because in pure quiet, your brain latches onto any internal feedback it can find. White noise helps, but in my experience it doesn't really cover up things like your own pulse or that faint ringing in your ears, it just gives your brain something else to focus on.

How do you handle that ringing when the white noise stops?
