Sunscreen's journey from beach bag staple to purse essential
Back then, it was only for pool days. Now folks reapply at their desks. Makes you ponder if we're protecting skin or just following trends, yeah?

But doesn't this daily sunscreen thing, like @jessep16 mentioned, kind of make us ignore other sun protection methods? I mean, now that it's in our purse, maybe we skip hats or seek shade less, idk.

Actually, the shift to daily sunscreen makes total sense when you look at the data. Dermatologists have been shouting for years that UV damage accumulates even from incidental exposure, like driving or sitting near windows. That's why SPF became part of morning routines, not just for beach days. So isn't it less about trends and more about people finally listening to science?

Science is right, but sunscreen isn't a magic shield. I still throw on a hat if I'm gonna be in the sun for more than a few minutes. Otherwise you're just baking with extra steps.
