Question about the sudden interest in Atari joysticks at yard sales lately

I used to see them for a buck, now they're priced like gold.

Last month I grabbed a working Nintendo with five games for fifteen bucks at the Goodwill on Elm. Tbh, you just have to get lucky and check places that don't know what they have.

Figured they were just old junk for years. Saw one priced at thirty bucks last week and finally got why people want them now.

I saw a beat-up copy of the board game Operation at a garage sale last weekend with a twenty dollar sticker on it. Maxt95, I get that some old things come back around, but a lot of this feels like people just wanting to cash in. That game was missing half the pieces. My parents' attic is full of scratched records and VHS tapes that are just clutter, not treasure. The hype makes folks see dollar signs where there's just dust.
