Vent: My hot take on 'Doggo' meme culture got me called a buzzkill
I was in a meme history chat and said the 'Doggo' trend (with words like 'pupper' and 'hooman') actually made online talk more childish and confusing. People laughed and said I was ruining the fun, but I think it started a habit of using baby talk that stuck around. It even showed up in serious posts, which was weird. Am I the only one who sees it this way?

Ugh, right? Why did that trend have to take over everything! I totally get where you're coming from, it made so many conversations feel silly. I saw it creep into recipe blogs calling ingredients "noms" and it was so distracting. My local news even tweeted about a "heckin good pupper" during a storm warning, like come on! It just made everything less clear for no good reason.

That "heckin good pupper" news tweet is the PERFECT example. I used to find that whole talk kinda cute and harmless, just internet fun. But seeing it everywhere, especially for serious stuff, totally changed my mind. It just makes people sound like they're not taking things seriously. Now it feels EXHAUSTING and like it's actually hurting clear talk.

Honestly I just stopped clicking on stuff that used that talk, like @kim_smith24 said about recipe blogs. After a while my feeds just showed me less of it.
