The Grimace Shake mascot got a glow up and I hate it

I swear the Grimace Shake mascot used to be this clumsy, lovable purple blob who looked like he'd trip over his own feet. Then McDonald's redid him sometime in the last year or so and now he's got this weird buff shape and a serious face. He looks like he's about to throw hands in the drive-thru line. What happened to the goofy guy who just wanted to hang out with Hamburglar? Now he's giving off major 'I train at 5 AM and judge your order' vibes. Has anyone else noticed this change or is it just me getting old and cranky?

Honestly I just noticed this the other day when I was grabbing breakfast and it threw me off so bad. The old Grimace was pure chaos, like that one friend who shows up to the party late and spills punch everywhere and you can't even be mad. Now he looks like he's about to lecture you about your gut health while doing squats. Tbh it feels like McDonald's is trying to make everything too serious and slick when nobody asked for that. Ngl I miss the clumsy purple blob who just wanted to vibe with the Fry Kids. It actually made me feel kind of sad because it's like they erased the fun part of my childhood memory.

Man oh man, you hit the nail right on the head with that one. I had the exact same gut punch feeling when I saw the new Grimace sitting there looking like he just got done with a therapy session. What worked for me was just leaning into remembering the old commercials on YouTube, you know, the ones where he'd trip over his own feet or just stand there blinking. It helped me realize they can't really take those memories away, even if the new version is a total buzzkill. I still get a little bitter about it when I see that fit looking purple dude though.
