Stuck researching how Viking sailors prevented scurvy during expeditions

I can't find consistent info on what they ate to avoid vitamin C deficiency.

Totally! I've hit the same wall looking into medieval food preservation.

Researching Viking scurvy fixes sounds like a tough puzzle. I bet they just loaded up on fermented fish and called it a day. Sometimes old school solutions were more about luck than science.

Actually, fermented fish loses most of its vitamin C! They did use some wild plants like scurvy grass, which was a lucky find. Still a rough deal when supplies ran out on long trips though.
