Vent: That squirrel blockade on the trail took forever...

We were halfway up the Oak Hollow path when a single squirrel planted itself right in the middle... It just stared at us, clutching a pinecone like it was guarding treasure. Our whole hike turned into a weird standoff for ten solid minutes... I almost offered it a trail mix bribe just to get moving again.

Tried your trail mix bribe idea once, just tossed a nut past it and walked by while it was distracted.

Wait, what kind of animal are we even talking about here, a squirrel or like a raccoon? Honestly the mental image of someone just yeeting a single almond to get past something is pretty funny. Did it actually work well enough that you'd try it again, or was it a one time panic move?

Actually that sounds like a terrible plan long term. You're just training them to bother people for food, plus next time you might not have snacks. Wouldn't risk it again.
