The gas station in my town changed its name, but only for me
I drove past the Shell station on Main Street last Tuesday, and the sign clearly said 'Quick Mart'. I went back on Thursday to get gas, and it was a Shell again, with the same old sign that's been there for years. I asked my friend who lives nearby, and he said it's always been Shell, never changed. Has anyone else had a place flip back and forth like that in a short time?

That's a classic case of the Mandela Effect, my friend.

The Berenstain Bears spelling is the one that always gets me. I had the books as a kid and I would have sworn it was Berenstein. When a whole bunch of people share that specific wrong memory, that's the real deal. Your friend's movie line thing is just regular forgetting.

Hold up, the Mandela Effect is for when a big group of people remember something wrong, like thinking the Monopoly man had a monocle. This sounds more like one person just misremembering a detail from a movie or a book. It happens to me all the time, I'll swear a line was said one way and then the clip proves me wrong.
