Why lab time deserves more love in geology work
In my experience, a lot of folks in our field act like real geology only happens outside. Your mileage may vary, but I found my stride with indoor sample review and data work. Focusing on core logs in the office helped me connect dots that frantic field trips missed. That focus actually shaped a key project call last year. From what I've seen, balancing both sides makes for smarter rock talk.

Connect dots that field trips missed" is so real. The lab is where you see the patterns the field just hints at.

Field gives the context labs filter out.

Labs miss the noise that makes the signal matter, @paul_hart.
