The great garage door opener mystery that ate my Saturday

Last weekend, my garage door just stopped working. No noise, no movement, nothing. I figured it was a simple fix, maybe a loose wire or a bad sensor. I spent two hours checking every connection, cleaning the photo eyes, and even resetting the power. Then I noticed the little green light on the wall button was out. I thought the button itself was dead, so I drove 20 minutes to the big box store, bought a new one, and wired it up. Still nothing. After a total of five hours, I finally found the problem. The tiny, cheap 3-amp fuse in the opener unit itself had blown. It was hidden behind a panel I didn't even know existed. A 50 cent part and 30 seconds to swap it, but it took me half a day to find it. Has anyone else had a garage door issue that turned out to be something stupid simple after hours of messing with it?

That's just how home ownership goes sometimes.

My buddy spent a whole afternoon on his before realizing the safety sensor was just blocked by a stray leaf.

Fuses are usually 5-amp, not 3.
