I think the 'no cordless' rule for shop vacuums is a bit much
Three years ago, I bought a big corded shop vac for my garage in Tacoma. Last month, I finally got a cordless one for quick cleanups. Everyone says the cordless ones are weak, but mine picks up metal shavings just fine. Why do people act like you need a cord for every single job?

Saw a tool review last week that tested both types. The guy ran a cordless model for over an hour cleaning a whole workshop floor. It handled sawdust and small debris without a problem. People just repeat what they heard five years ago. The new battery tech is way better now.

I mean, that's cool for a workshop floor, but try cleaning up after a real job site. Battery life still tanks with heavy material like wet drywall mud or concrete dust. Maybe it's just me but I still need a cord for anything bigger than light cleanup.

Ha, my cordless one still works after I dropped it off a ladder. Guess I'm not the best test case. But yeah, @max_rodriguez71 is right, the new ones are solid. People just hate change.
