Unpopular opinion: I thought a $20 screen protector was a scam until my phone took a dive
I always skipped screen protectors, thinking they were a waste of cash. My new phone felt tough, and I figured a case was enough. Then, two months ago, I dropped it face down on a concrete step outside my apartment. I was sure the screen was toast. When I picked it up, the protector was completely shattered, but the actual screen underneath was perfect. I peeled off the mess and the phone looked brand new. It cost me another $20 to replace the protector, but that's way cheaper than a screen repair. Now I'm a total convert, but my buddy says they're still pointless and just make the screen feel worse. Has anyone else had a drop that changed their mind on cheap accessories?

Yeah but the real win is avoiding that annoying micro-scratch haze over time. My last phone looked sandblasted after a year without one lol.

Ugh, that sandblasted look is the WORST. What screen protector did you end up going with?

Harper_cooper21 has a point about the scratches, but I also like how a good protector keeps the oleophobic coating from wearing off. Once that goes, the screen never feels clean.
