My kid asked if my old GPS was a 'talking brick' and I couldn't argue

We were driving to a job in Akron last week and I pulled out my old Garmin from 2012 because my phone was dead. My eight-year-old in the back seat just stared at it and said, 'Dad, why is your car talking to a brick?' It made me realize how fast even basic tech gets left behind. What's the oldest piece of tech you still use that would look crazy to someone now?

Still have a flip phone for work calls, and my niece asked if it was a toy calculator.

Remember when tech was built to last instead of being replaced every year... wade_hayes. My dad's old flip phone could survive a drop off a ladder, and now a kid sees one and thinks it's a toy. It's wild how fast something useful becomes a museum piece. Makes you wonder what we're tossing out now that folks will miss in ten years.

My old Nokia still works fine, so I just keep using it.
