I was at a tech meetup in Seattle and a guy's phone charger made me rethink my whole setup...

This guy had this tiny, foldable charger that plugged right into the wall without a cable. He said it was a 30-watt GaN charger from Anker. I was using this big old brick and a separate cord that was always a mess in my bag. I bought one the next day and it's so much simpler for travel. Anyone else switched to one of these compact chargers and found it actually works better?

Ever wonder why we all carried those bulky bricks for so long?

Honestly never gave it much thought. They worked fine for calls and texts, which was all most people needed. The whole "bulky brick" thing feels like a made up problem looking back. We just used what was available and got on with our day.

The real joke is how much faster those old phones charged compared to modern ones. My Motorola could go from dead to full in about 45 minutes, and the battery lasted three days. Now I'm tethered to a wall outlet every single night.
