Appreciation post: I finally get why my friend in Denver said to ignore the 'peak brightness' spec on projectors.

After renting an Epson 3800 for a movie night, I realized the contrast ratio and color accuracy matter way more than that one big number on the box, so what's the most overrated spec you see people focusing on?

My buddy spent $600 on a 108MP phone camera and every shot looked like a watercolor painting.

You're right about peak brightness being misleading. For me it's megapixels on phone cameras. My old 12MP phone took better photos than my friend's new 48MP one because the sensor and lens were just better quality. People see a huge number and think it means a better picture every time, but it really doesn't work that way.

Wait your old phone only had 12MP? That's actually CRAZY to me, @patricia_schmidt14. My first smartphone camera was like 5MP and the pictures were just a blurry mess. It's wild that a 12MP sensor could beat a modern 48MP one, but it just shows how the lens and processing matter more. Companies really bank on people just seeing that bigger number.
