A comment on my video made me rethink how I test battery life
I posted a review for a new power bank last week, and someone named Chris left a comment that really stuck with me. He said, 'You're just charging a phone from 0 to 100. That's not how people use these things in real life. We top them up from 20% or 50% all day.' I realized he was totally right. My testing was too clean and didn't match actual use. So I changed my method. Now, for the last three gadgets I've reviewed, I've been simulating a real day: I drain a tablet to 30%, charge it for an hour, then top up my headphones from 10%, and see how much juice is left in the bank. It gives a way more honest picture of performance. Has anyone else had a piece of feedback that completely changed how you test a specific feature?

30% is the sweet spot though, @annas87 nailed it. That's where most people actually plug in.

Honestly, that "real world" testing sounds like a mess. Controlled tests from zero are the only way to get a clear, repeatable number you can actually compare between products. Your new method has way too many variables. What tablet? What headphones? Everyone's gear is different, so your results only matter to you. A standard test lets people know the raw capacity, and they can guess how it fits their own weird charging habits from there.
