I discovered a simple way to fix water rings on my coffee table

My kid left a sweating glass on the coffee table last week, and it left these nasty white rings. I read online that mixing baking soda with regular toothpaste into a paste can buff them out, and it actually worked pretty well. Do you folks have any other home remedies for this kind of finish damage, or should I just strip and redo it?

Oh man, water rings are the worst. I used a walnut to buff mine out and it worked like a charm, no need to strip anything.

But walnuts only hide light marks...
