A customer in Denver told me my stain was 'too flat' and it ruined my whole week

I had just finished a walnut dining table for a client and thought it looked great. She looked at it for about 10 seconds and said 'this stain is too flat, it needs some depth.' I was pretty annoyed at first but she was right. I started adding a tiny bit of darker glaze to the corners before sealing and it changed how I do all my work now. Anyone else had a customer give you feedback that actually improved your process?

Had a client once tell me my blue was too blue and it messed with my head for a solid month before I realized they meant it needed a touch of purple.

I don't know man, ruining your whole week over a stain comment? Seems a little dramatic but hey glad you got something out of it.

Nah @alexc93 I get where youre coming from but sometimes it's the little things that pile up you know? Like that stain comment might have been the straw that broke the camel's back after a week of other dumb stuff. Maybe they already felt insecure about their outfit or someone else had been making snide remarks all week. Its not always about one comment, it's about the 50 other things that led up to it. So yeah, maybe it seems dramatic from the outside but inside they were already at their limit.
