Why does nobody talk about the freelance lesson I learned at the library?
I was at the main branch of the public library last Tuesday, trying to find a quiet spot to work on a proposal. I ended up sitting near the reference desk for about an hour. What struck me was the librarian. She must have helped six people in that time, each with a totally different question. One needed a tax form, another wanted a book on local birds, and a third asked for help printing something. She didn't know all the answers right away, but she knew exactly how to find them, and she stayed calm through it all. It hit me that my job as a freelance writer isn't that different. Clients come with all sorts of needs, and I can't possibly know everything. My real value is in knowing how to figure it out quickly and without panic. That shift in thinking, from expert to expert finder, has taken so much pressure off. Has anyone else found a similar mindset in a totally normal place?

That's a solid way to look at it. Freelancing really is about being a good problem solver, not a walking encyclopedia. I started keeping a simple text file with links and notes for common questions I get asked. Saves me from scrambling every time. It's less about knowing the answer and more about having a reliable system to get there fast. What's one go-to resource you've found yourself using over and over?

Honestly @paul_patel40, that system sounds like extra work when you could just remember the answers.
