Rant: A client in Seattle ghosted me after I'd already done half the website redesign work.

I was about 20 hours into the project when all communication stopped, so I had to decide whether to keep working on spec or just cut my losses and move on, which is a tough call when you're counting on that income.

My buddy had the same thing happen with a logo design. He sent over three rough drafts and then the guy just vanished, never even saw the final versions.

Ugh that's so frustrating and it feels like ghosting has become the default way to end any kind of transaction. I see it everywhere now, from people not showing up for small sales to companies just ignoring job applicants. It's like basic respect and communication have gone out the window because it's easier to just disappear. Really sorry you got stuck in that spot, having to choose between your time and the money you were counting on.
