The guy just ghosted you after you sent all the work? That's wild. I can't believe someone would think that's okay. I'd be furious.

Yeah, I used to think asking for half was too pushy and would scare clients off. Then I got burned on a big project where the guy just stopped answering emails after I delivered everything. Now I see it as a basic filter. If someone won't agree to a standard deposit, they probably weren't going to pay the rest anyway. It saves you from the worst kind of clients before you even start.
