My go-to method for easing freelance money worries
When cash flow dips, I don't freak out anymore. I keep a separate savings account just for slow times. Every paid job, I put a bit in there. It's enough to cover rent and food for a while. I also take on small tasks like editing to fill gaps. This way, I stay focused and avoid burnout. It's made freelancing much less scary.

Kept an emergency fund too, it really saved my bacon.

Hearing "saved my bacon" actually makes me rethink my old views on emergency funds. I guess you really don't know until you need it, huh?

But honestly, is it that big of a deal to need a whole separate account (seems like extra work)? I just ride out the slow weeks and pick up a delivery gig or two. Freelancing has always been up and down, it's just part of the deal.
