Just realized I was charging way too little for rush jobs

I mean, a client needed a 24-hour turnaround on a logo last week and I only added 10%. After doing the math on the stress and lost sleep, I basically worked for free. How do you guys figure out your rush fees?

Ever think about how much you'd pay someone to ruin their weekend? I'm with thompson.nathan, that 50% fee is just the cost of my sanity now. It's not a penalty, it's the price of their emergency.

Honestly, I used to feel bad about charging extra. But after a few all-nighters, I realized my time is worth more. What's your rush fee now, like 50%?

Charging that much can really burn client trust though. It feels like a penalty for their bad planning, not a fair price for your time. A small bump to cover the extra coffee is one thing, but half again the cost just makes people look elsewhere next time.
