Tbh I used to think floral foam was the only option for big arrangements, but after a workshop in Portland last fall I switched to chicken wire and moss for everything over 12 inches.

Honestly, the debate in my shop is between the old-school speed of foam and the new-school sustainability of mechanics, so what's your take on the trade-off for a 50-piece wedding order?

Man, have you thought about the cleanup? Foam crumbles get everywhere and you're still picking green bits out of the carpet next Tuesday. With wire and moss, you just ball it up and toss it. For fifty centerpieces, that's a solid hour saved just on breakdown after the event, and your crew isn't breathing in that weird dust.

You're absolutely right about that cleanup being a nightmare. The tiny foam pieces stick to everything and just float around in the air. Saving an hour on breakdown is huge when your team is already exhausted from the event. Breathing in that dust feels awful, and moss is so much kinder to everyone involved.

Wait, have you actually timed the build for fifty centerpieces with chicken wire? I tried it for a large wedding last season and the extra time on the front end killed our schedule. Foam lets us work way faster when we're under pressure, and that reliability matters more to me than a slightly easier cleanup. Doesn't the stability of foam give you more confidence for transport and setup?
