Rant: I watched a neighbor try to put a rose arrangement in a vase full of warm water
It was for a birthday party last weekend, and the flowers were drooping within two hours. I've been doing this for eight years, and I see this all the time. Warm water makes stems rot faster and speeds up bacteria growth. I keep a gallon jug in the fridge just for flower water now. How many of you have to explain the 'cold water only' rule to new customers?

Honestly saw someone do this with a grocery store bouquet last month. Tbh I had to physically stop myself from giving an unsolicited flower care lecture. My social awkwardness saved their roses that day.

Read a whole article about this last year. It said microwaving water can create superheated spots that don't bubble. Then when you move the cup or put something in it, the water can basically explode out. Seems like a legit burn risk for people, but maybe it's fine for plants if she lets it sit? Still feels like an unnecessary gamble when a kettle exists.
