Just saw a trick for wilting hydrangeas at a wedding in Asheville
The lead florist dunked the whole bloom head in a bucket of cool water for like 10 seconds before placing it. I tried it on a bouquet yesterday and the stems perked up way faster. Anyone else use a quick dunk method for specific flowers?

My hydrangeas from the grocery store last week just sat in a vase for two days. Honestly, it feels like a lot of extra work for flowers that are already dying.

That's a real shame about your hydrangeas. Sometimes those grocery store flowers just need a really deep drink right away, like a full stem trim and hot water first. It can feel like a hassle, but getting them to bounce back is part of the fun for me. Watching them perk up after looking sad makes the little bit of work worth it.

Ugh, this is everywhere now. We buy berries that go bad in two days, herbs in plastic that wilt overnight, and bread that gets stale before the week is out. It's like everything is already halfway to the trash when you get it home. Makes you not even want to bother trying.
