A bride's mom told me my bouquets looked too perfect and stiff

She said they looked like they came from a catalog, not a garden. I started leaving a few stems a bit longer and letting some blooms sit a little looser. Has anyone else gotten feedback that made you loosen up your style?

Who knew a little imperfection could feel so right?

Tell you what, cooper.phoenix, chasing perfect is how you end up with a blank page or an empty room. Learned that the hard way restoring old furniture. The first big scratch on a piece I'd spent weeks on almost broke me, but now it's the part my hand goes to every time. That little flaw makes it mine, tells a better story than something untouched ever could.

I read once that Japanese potters purposely leave a crack in their bowls to remind you the piece is alive, not just pretty.
