Totally thought I killed my water kefir starter
It stopped bubbling and looked sad. I fed it some organic sugar and now it's thriving. What's your go-to fix for sluggish ferments?

Years of fruit additions seemed pointless after sugar worked its magic.

But fruit adds a whole other layer of flavor sugar just can't give you. It's that bright, fresh note that balances everything out.
