Unpopular opinion: I tried setting a 50ft vinyl line with just a string level vs. a laser level. The laser saved me 2 hours and a ton of back pain.

Okay but was the string level really that bad? Two hours seems like a lot for a single line. Maybe you just had a really rough setup or something.

My old garage door opener took me three hours to program because the manual had one wrong diagram. It's the small, unclear details in instructions that always eat up huge chunks of time, not the main task itself. That string level probably had some weird, specific quirk the guide didn't explain well.
