Wasted $150 on cheap fabric scissors that couldn't cut through denim

Bought a set of budget shears off a random website and they dulled after cutting three yards of cotton. Had to spend another $60 on proper Gingher scissors from a local shop in Portland. Anyone else fall for those "professional grade" deals that just waste your money?

Oof, have you ever gotten so mad at a pair of scissors you just threw them across the room? I did that with a pair that couldn't even cut through a piece of felt, it was honestly pretty funny looking back. I learned my lesson the hard way too, now I just stick with the basic Ginghers and treat them like gold. Paid $50 for mine and they've lasted three years, so I guess sometimes you really do get what you pay for.

Oh no, you THREW them?! Thats like throwing a whole mood across the room, I can picture the felt just sitting there all smug while you lost it haha! But seriously though, paying $50 for scissors and having them last three years seems like a miracle these days. I bought a pair for like $8 last month and they already feel like cutting paper with a butter knife, so I might have to look into those Ginghers before I end up flinging something myself.

Oh man, I feel you on the cheap scissors thing. I had the same problem with a $10 pair from a craft store that couldn't cut through a single piece of felt without pulling and shredding. It was honestly frustrating enough to make me want to chuck them too. I ended up biting the bullet and buying a nice pair of Kai scissors for around $40 a couple years ago, and it was totally worth it. They still cut like new and I don't even think about replacing them.
