Was totally wrong about oversized blazers until I saw one in person

I spent years rolling my eyes at oversized blazers thinking they just looked like you borrowed your dad's jacket from 1987. Then I tried on a vintage YSL piece at a thrift store in Portland last fall and the way it draped actually made my shoulders look better. Now I own three of them and wear them with everything including joggers. Has anyone else had a piece they hated online but loved in real life?

Oh yeah, same here with chunky dad sneakers - thought they were ridiculous until I actually put a pair on.

Was it the shoulder padding that changed your mind? I had the same thing with a thrifted Burberry blazer - the structure made my posture look completely different. Like the drape actually followed my body instead of drowning it. Did the YSL have that sharp shoulder line or was it softer?
