My aunt told me to use a zipper foot for the first time, said it was foolproof.

Tried it on a jacket project last weekend, ended up sewing the zipper to the sleeve lining. Took me an hour to unpick the whole mess. What's the real trick for getting a zipper in clean?

Foolproof" zippers? Try basting it first with a glue stick.

That glue stick trick @finleyh89 mentioned is a total game changer. I used to fight with zippers all the time before trying that method. It really does make the whole process way easier.
