Bought a $200 fabric cutter that shredded my silk sample
Got it online for a new dress idea. The blade skipped and ruined two yards of expensive silk. Anyone know a good hand tool for delicate stuff?

Did you check if the blade was dull before you started?

Ugh, that's the worst feeling. I had a rotary cutter do the same thing to some linen, it just hopped right over a fold.

Watch a rotary cutter skip over a fold like it's playing hopscotch. You're left with this sad little uncut thread holding everything together. It feels like the fabric itself is mocking you. My last project looked like a kindergartner with safety scissors got to it.
