Why I never shoe a wet hoof, no matter how impatient the owner gets.
A little patience NOW prevents BIG problems down the road.

Honestly I used to be so impatient with stuff like that. I'd skip steps if I thought I could get away with it, you know? Like changing my car's oil but not replacing the filter to save ten minutes. Then my engine started making this awful noise a month later. Cost me way more time and money to fix than if I'd just done it right the first time. That one mechanic visit basically rewired my brain on following the steps.

It's like when you don't let the bread dough rise all the way because you're in a hurry, and then you get a dense brick. We rush the small steps all the time to save five minutes, but it always messes up the whole result later. I see it with baking, with painting a room before the primer dries, even just letting a cut heal. What's your biggest "I should have waited" moment?

Your post reminds me of my friend Jake's disaster with painting his kitchen. He was in a hurry to finish before a party, so he didn't wait for the primer to dry fully. He painted over it, and within hours, the paint started peeling off. He had to redo the whole thing, which took twice as long. It's exactly like your bread dough example, @the_paige, rushing just ruins the outcome. Now he always lets things dry properly, lol.
