That new 3M Cubitron II grinding disc I tried on a rasp

I was shaping a shoe for a big Percheron cross in Bend and grabbed one of those purple ceramic discs instead of my usual aluminum oxide. It cut through the rasp marks in about half the time, but it also wore down way faster than I expected. Anyone else find a sweet spot for these on heavy rasps, or are they just too pricey for regular use?

Wait, isn't that a sanding disc, not a grinding one?

Oh man that reminds me of the time I grabbed what I thought was a sanding disc for my orbital sander. It was actually a grinding disc my dad left in the wrong box. Totally chewed up a piece of pine I was working on, left these deep swirl marks all over it. Had to start the whole project over from scratch. Now I double check every single disc before it goes on the tool.

Yeah @emma_clark, grinding discs are way more aggressive than sanding ones.
